Challenge / Goal
Increase the indoor comfort of historic homes in the city of Chiang Mai along with the improvement of quality of life.
Solution
To ensure continuous monitoring of indoor air quality, fifteen AirWits PM sensors have been integrated into the OCTOBUS IoT Platform and installed in historic homes in Chiang Mai. These commercial sensors are specifically designed to measure air quality effectively.[1]
Data on indoor air quality is transmitted every 10 minutes via Sigfox, a global network operator focused on the Internet of Things. Sigfox specializes in low power, long-range, and small data solutions, providing an end-to-end connectivity service that efficiently sends data to the OCTOBUS cloud.
Once in the cloud, the air quality data can be accessed and monitored on various mobile devices. If air quality levels reach critical thresholds, the system automatically sends notifications, enabling prompt and appropriate actions to be taken.
