Challenge / Goal
Increase in flooding events across the Dublin region, often caused by a combination of overflowing river banks, coastal storms or blocked or overloaded drainage ditches, cause hazardous effects. The project aimed to mitigate efects by developing sensor products that monitor water levels within gullies and report on flooding incidents.
Solution
The solution was to develop sensor products which monitor water levels within gullies and report on flooding incidents. These sensors and the monitoring of them can help to enable proactive planning measures.
