Challenge / Goal
Tackling congestion and pollution are still high on Bogotá’s agenda. Core to overcoming these obstacles, the city needed to find an innovative way to make public transport and alternative travel more attractive to residents.
Our main goal with MAAS is to make it easier for anyone to travel in Bogotá. Accurate information based on real-time passenger data covering bus arrivals, routes and schedules will allow millions to save time on their daily commute.

Solution
With the Trafi platform we are able to add value not only to those using public transport but also to people that travel by taxi or other means of transportation. Booking a ride or renting a vehicle will soon be possible from your phone in one single application using an online payment method. This kind of innovation is unique in LATAM and we plan to extend it to other cities in the region.

Bogotá decided to introduce a Mobility-as-a-Service solution. Needing to move at pace and scale, Trafi was selected to deliver the solution. The result is MAAS powered by Trafi, a powerful app that empowers residents with the information and tools they need to make easier and safer trips across Bogotá.
Currently in its first iteration, MAAS offers real-time journey planning and tracking across the city’s BRT and cable car network and is the first such functionality to be offered to Bogotans. A first-of-its-kind integration with the tullave travelcard is also being developed for MAAS. This, in combination with deep integrations with Bogotá’s taxi service and other MSPs, will make it possible to plan, book, track and pay for travel from within the one app.
