Challenge / Goal
In Germany, various data sources provide information on the expansion status and potential of renewable energy (RE) systems. This data needs to be collected and visualised so that a city can see at a glance how far the expansion of renewable energy has progressed. In addition, by visualising the various potentials for buildings and open spaces, it is possible to estimate which RE potential should be best utilised.
Solution
- Merging data sources (market master data register, e-charging station register of the Federal Network Agency) and presentation in a single geoinformation system
- Development of a prototype
- Office workshop: Presentation of prototype and enquiry according to the city's needs
- Incorporating feedback
- Transfer to a productive system of the city administration
