Challenge / Goal
A smart phone application (based on an existing application called CERO Challenge) is developed to follow up changes in travel behaviour among residents living in the area of Årsta. The aim is to obtain a better real-time update of transport behaviour in comparison to traditional travel surveys. This can also function as a useful information channel regarding travel demand management measures, as well as an effective way of colleting data for the evaluation of transport measures in the area.
Solution
Three alternative programmes have been evaluated for implementing the application and one of these is now contracted and has initialised the work. The work is primarily aimed at finding out how to obtain an attractive and challenging implementation and interaction with the residents. A statistic interface has been developed for analysing users’ travel data on an aggregate systems level. A dynamic website has been developed in order to test the functionality and design of the application. Programmers are now working on a transformation of the dynamic website to a mobile application for Android and Iphone.
Additionally, in order for users in Årsta to get information and personalised feedback on how to reduce emissions by using electric vehicles (and charging stations), as well as general more energy efficient travel alternatives, the mobile application will be synthesised with smart guiding to alternative fuel stations.
